Google's September 9 update includes Sheets canvas: turning a spreadsheet into an interactive mini-app with a prompt.
Google lists it for AI Pro and Ultra. This is a summary of its announcement, not a hands-on review.
A small experiment I'd try: a tracker for feedback on an app.
Start with made-up rows. Give each row an app name, feedback topic, status and next action. Keep the example small enough that you can check every result yourself.
Then ask for one useful view:
"Show feedback grouped by status. Let me filter by app name. Keep the original comments visible. Don't invent missing information."
That's a suggested experiment, not a claim that every part of this prompt is supported or works reliably.
Before using a generated view for real work, I'd check three things:
Can I trace each item back to the right source row?
What happens when a status is blank or spelled differently?
If I change a row, does the view reflect the change as expected?
A neat screen can make incorrect data look convincing. A handful of deliberately awkward examples can tell you more than a perfect demo.
What interests me here is being able to test whether a small workflow is useful before deciding how much software to build around it.
